Holland Construction was selected by Baltimore County to manage the expansion and renovation of the Cockeysville branch of the Baltimore County Public Library, located at 9833 Greenside Drive in Cockeysville, MD. Construction activities are underway on the existing 24,000 square foot building that will receive a 1600 square foot addition, with completion scheduled for July 2010. The more than $1 million improvement package entails a comprehensive renovation of the interior of the existing structure, combined with the one-story addition that will feature 14 foot ceilings. The combined structures will house an expanded children’s area, newly-designed teen section and an updated interior design including new restroom facilities, meeting space, video information center, group conference room and quiet study room. The enlarged interior will allow for the inclusion of additional public computers and laptop stations, as well as more space for easier maneuverability by library users.
The Cockeysville library branch will remain open during the construction activities.
